Fearless Friday

Sometimes, the idea you have in your head of how a piece should look, is not what you necessarily end up with!

The triptych that I envisioned for the gym was to have three running figures - one on each panel and this is what it looked like.
But then I photographed them and looked at them on my computer and a chance image appeared on my screen - this:
The Finished Paintings

And I really, really liked it!  So now I had a dilemma, keep all three figures or remove the first two.  Luckily I had used Golden Open acrylics and I had a bit of time to scrub the first two images off, keeping that final figure.

The client was delighted, phew!

Thanks Connie, yes I am pleased, especially as a chance happening made it better than I thought it could be!

Hi Rolina, It is strange how people see things differently. I like the first version best as each piece connects to the others. I don't think the final has that connection although I like it as well. Have a good weekend.

Thanks Val, I liked it too and was happy until I saw the single version. Luckily, the client prefers that one too as I offered them the choice.

What's not to like? They are both so creative! I think the finished triptych was a great choice. Lucky client!

Interesting how the final version seems to have more life than the version where you had 3 running figures. The repetition of the figure made the originals more static. Not something I would have predicted. Congratulations that the client agreed.

Great idea! I have to admit, I'm torn, as I love both versions for different reasons. But it all ended just the way you would want!
