Day 20 - Linen Thread

10"x10" on 300gsm Paper
We are two-thirds of the way through the challenge - my, that seems to have gone fast.
Today's painting is on heavy watercolour paper and has scrim, modelling paste and linen thread applied before gessoing all over.

Then layers of paint were built up as well as drawing with tools and black charcoal.  I have also used my own stencils throughout.

The finishing touches were oil pastel in a pale blue.

Beautiful colors and design. I'm sure it is even more fabulous in person.

it has gone fast :) I have really enjoyed seeing all of your little pieces of work so am glad the challenge is not over :)

I wish I had of known about it a few days before it started rather then the day after because I probably would have participated :)

Thanks Sandy, paintings are always so hard to photograph accurately, the camera quite often misses some of the texture.

Thanks Jennifer, I will be sad when it is finished, I have really enjoyed getting to know new artists and to push my art. Leslie Saeta runs these challenges several times a year. I will let you know the next one. I might be recovered by then!

Beautiful painting today, I like it very much. You are so good with this technique, which is new to me.
I hope we meet again in the next challenge! When this challenge is over I think I will go with a theme rather than jumping from one subject to another.
all the best,
AB

Thanks so much Andersson Blue, I think a theme makes it easier in a way, helps with that "what shall I paint next?" feeling!

Thanks too, Julie, that is a huge compliment, I appreciate it!

Thanks Ronda and Connie - these are my favourite colours. In a day or two I will be forcing myself to do a whole painting in - ack, I can barely say it, in - neutrals!!
